What We DoParticipates in the design, planning, management, maintenance, and support, and any other technological duties associated with an organization's cloud computing environment.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, test, and implement repeatable process to provision AWS infrastructure using IaC; Develop code using enterprise grade source code control, artifact management, testing, change management, user documentation.
  • Analyze AWS services to determine how to automate their deployment consistent with company policies and standards. Implement automated provisioning of these new services.
  • Implement Security and Compliance Controls.
  • Develop and Publish Technical Standards.
  • Actively participate on an Agile infrastructure product team including daily standups, demos, retrospectives, sprint planning, etc.
  • Perform work consistent with agreed upon team goals and priorities; Assist team members as requested or required.
  • Build test automation suites to ensure the quality of products.
  • Designs, codes, unit test, debug, and document those programs.
  • Customizes Cloud software based on research and customer needs.
  • May consult with users and develop business relationships and integrate activities with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation.
  • Monitor and report to management on the status of project efforts, anticipating/identifying issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implementing corrective actions.
  • Formulates and defines system scope and objectives for assigned projects.
  • Performs maintenance, installations, upgrades, and other technical duties associated with the support of product applications platforms and/or product systems platforms.
  • Responsible for top-tier implementation and integration with backend databases.
  • Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify internal business systems.
  • Required to perform duties outside of normal work hours based on business needs.

Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used

  • Experience and solid understanding of AWS engineering practices
  • Experience translating Cloud requirements and experience with AWS design solutions.
  • Thorough knowledge of AWS networking concepts; Hands-on experience working with AWS networking technologies; Advances AWS networking troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft AD, Azure AD, and AWS specific identity and access management (users, groups, roles, permissions)
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS routing, peering, internet ingress and egress, cloud network design skills; Global / geo load balancing; Network security groups.
  • Strong role-based access design
  • Strategies for managing quotas and limits.
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS cloud services associated with job role.
  • Knowledge of pros / cons / implications of implementing various cloud services.
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS logging and monitoring services; Design of logging and monitoring strategies.
  • Collaborate and create AWS governance policies.
  • Create advanced, modular, parameterized pipelines using cloud native tools.
  • Fluent in role-specific programming languages (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Python, YAML, C#, PowerShell, Linux shell, etc.); Ability to create advanced IaC modules and reusable functions.
  • Advanced design skills including modularity, reliability, parameterization.
  • Deep understanding of modern software development testing strategies (Test Driven Development, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of source code control systems and strategies; Code branching and forking; pull requests.
  • Thorough knowledge of IaC testing tools and integration into development and deployment processes.
  • Experience with various computer platforms and application environments.
  • Constantly updating personal technical and business knowledge and skills and mentoring others to increase the knowledge and skills of the team.
  • Strong organizational or Project Management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Typical Education

  • Normally requires BS Degree or equivalent work experience.

Typical Range of Experience

  • Typically have 5-7 years of directly related experience.
  • Experience with Cloud Platform and Automation / IaC
  • Having experience working with distributed team is preferred.

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty
  • AWS Certified Security - Specialty
  • ISC2 CCSP - Certified Cloud Security Professional

Pay Range: $79,950 - $166,050 Annually

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
