Summary:

Under general supervision provides error-free electronic mechanical artwork files for all assigned projects. Supports the overall efforts of the Pre-Press Production Team while providing general support in Point-Of-Sale and Packaging as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Creates error free and legally approved mechanical artwork files for production/maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Verifies that files contain correct elements needed for final files.
  • Uses Adobe Creative Cloud applications to correct inconsistencies and mistakes in final artwork before its release.
  • Supports Senior Production staff.
  • Prepares electronic artwork for all miscellaneous requests.
  • Builds and strategically extends approved designs across flavor/varietals and size extensions.
  • Supports Design and Project Management Teams with assorted requests.
  • Keeps Pre-Press Supervisor apprised of workload daily.
  • Maintains organization of files (electronic and physical job jackets) for all in-progress and completed assignments.
  • Maintains superior knowledge of government packaging regulations/mandatory requirements, including both Domestic (TTB) and International requirements.
  • Executes assignments with a strict adherence to timelines.
  • Supports process improvement initiatives.
  • Keeps accurate project timesheets and timely project documentation.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Communication, or Printing Technology plus 1 year of packaging pre-press design or print file preparation experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Associate degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Communication, or Printing Technology plus 3 years of packaging pre-press design or print file preparation experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of packaging pre-press design or print file preparation experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Skilled in pre-press and printing technologies for all packaging components and/or point of sale artwork.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting technical documents.
  • Skilled in writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Skilled in applying common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Skilled in dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Skilled in the use of Adobe Creative Suite applications at a basic level.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design or Graphic Communication plus 3 years of packaging pre-press design experience.
  • Beverage industry experience.
  • Skilled in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and proficient in Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of vendor capabilities and limitations.
  • Advanced understanding of winery production and package component manufacturing.
  • Experience learning new industry, company, product and technical knowledge.
  • Skilled in discerning subtle color and printing distinctions.
  • Experience with managing multiple projects and working well under pressure with little supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-through; experience with multi-tasking under tight time constraints.
  • Good interpersonal skills and experience working as a team player.

Compensation

  • Hiring Pay Range: $25.96 - $35.00/Hour
  • Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
