Job Description


At IFF, we are looking for a motivated individual with a background in science to join our team for the summer. This individual will work independently to complete a combination of daily responsibilities and projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of lab media and reagents
  • QC of microbiological media
  • Calibration of lab equipment
  • Preparation of seed media for fermentation
  • Perform physical testing (pH, SG, RI)
  • Perform QC testing
    • Chemical Oxygen Demand
    • Protein quantification
    • Dry Cell Weight

Project:
Protein Analysis

  • Work with engineering to understand protein to activity conversions
  • Crossover on Proteins to aid in the analysis of samples
  • Analyze data to determine protein to activity factors for AGS, ATA, and TGP.
  • Present overview of findings to production site
Job Requirements

Education and Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Previous lab experience
  • Basic understanding of acids and bases
  • Understanding of gravimetric techniques
  • Able to work independently and within a team environment
